August 2024 Reading Wrap-Up

At the end of last month I made some reading goals for August. As usual things don’t go as planned, but I still read a lot this month.

The Villainess Turns the Hourglass

I like how all the events and characters are intertwining and that is what makes this manhwa so interesting. The actions of the characters aren’t easily guessed and everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do.

I devoured the fist three volumes in this series. If I didn’t catch a bad cold at the end of August I would have read all 4 available volumes.

I’m glad I deviated from my reading plan this month and gave it a try because its currently one of my new favourites.

By the Grace of the Gods

I started a few new series this month. The first one being a light novel By the Grace of the Gods. If you like cozy slice of life light novels then you will enjoy this. If you are looking for a plot heavy or a literary masterpiece then you’ll want to skip this one. I bought it from the cover art which is beautiful and I’m glad that I enjoyed the novel as well.

Overall it was above average, but not good enough to recommend with high praises. It does have the potential to be a good series. I would have to read more volumes before I can recommend the series, though.

Omniscient Reader Viewpoint

I read over 50 chapters this month and I’m loving every minute of Omniscient Reader Viewpoint.

Overall this is a five star read and I will continue to read through it until the end. Because the artwork is so beautiful I also plan to order it in Korean even though I can’t speak a single word of the language.

The pacing is perfect and hooks you in at the end of every chapter. When we delve into the side characters I don’t get upset like I normally do in stories ebcause they all tie in so perfectly and are vital to the story. It reminds me of Naruto, where the other characters are just as important for the overall success of the main character.

I recommend this to anyone who loves to read regardless of their preferred genre.
